March 8, 2019: International Women’s Day.

At awpl, International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change, and most importantly, to celebrate the women who play an extraordinary role in our company.

awpl is proud to have a strong representation of women in our team. 70% of our total workforce is female, with 50% of executives and 89% of our retail managers being female.

We are fortunate to work every day with the women who make awpl what it is today – a company that strives to leave a positive and memorable feeling with everyone we meet, whether they are customers, suppliers, airport partners, or more.

“Change isn’t just about big headline moments, legal victories and international agreements: the way we talk, think, and act every day can create a ripple effect that benefits everyone.”

awpl has fair processes that recruit, recognise, and reward our staff based on skill and ability. We have a strong focus on assisting our employees in taking the next step in their career and giving them the skills to be the best in the industry.

We are also proud to support the responsibilities and commitments of our colleagues through recently introduced initiatives that enable a greater integration of work and personal commitments.

As the United Nations says, “Change isn’t just about big headline moments, legal victories and international agreements: the way we talk, think, and act every day can create a ripple effect that benefits everyone.” Here at awpl we are big believers in this. We are proud to continue to support the women in our team – whether they work in one of our 50+ stores around Australia and New Zealand, or they work in our Port Melbourne Support Centre – and to create bigger changes across our industry.
